Limerick Diocesan Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome
In March 2025, pilgrims from across the Diocese of Limerick travelled to Rome for a special Jubilee Year Pilgrimage, joining thousands of others in the Eternal City during the Holy Year 2025, themed “Pilgrims of Hope.”
This six-night pilgrimage was a deeply prayerful and enriching experience, combining visits to the great basilicas of Rome with moments of reflection, fellowship and discovery.
A Jubilee Year Experience
As part of the Jubilee celebrations, pilgrims had the opportunity to pass through the Holy Doors of Rome’s major basilicas — a powerful symbol of renewal, reconciliation and grace during a Holy Year.
The group visited:
- St Peter’s Basilica and Holy Door
- St John Lateran Basilica and Holy Door
- St Mary Major’s Basilica and Holy Door
- St Paul’s Outside the Walls and Holy Door
A Pilgrimage of Hope
The Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome was more than a trip, it was a journey of faith. As Pilgrims of Hope, those who travelled returned home spiritually renewed, strengthened in their connection to the universal Church, and inspired in their faith.
The Diocese of Limerick gives thanks for the graces received during this special pilgrimage and looks forward to future opportunities to journey together in faith.
